Yesterday our car was broken into and one of our windows is broken. We noticed this in the middle of the night somewhere in the Netherlands. This was definitely not the best place and time to have a broken window. We walked all the way to the police station to file a report and in the end everything was fine. We fixed the window temporarily and got home safely.
There were two crucial mistakes we made in the panic and I don’t plan on making them again. We did not drive the car because we wanted to preserve the crime scene for the police to take a look. That was not necessary. We could have and probably should have taken the car. It would have made the whole ordeal a lot less annoying. We also forgot to check for the important information before going to the police station. Doing so beforehand would have made everything much easier.
