I like traveling but I don’t like doing sightseeing that much. I prefer meeting people. If you want to see the sights, you can just look at photos. That is what we end up doing anyways. Instead, I want to meet people and make experiences that change me even a long time after the vacation is over.
I normally like taking trains. It is convenient. You can ride with friends and you can get some stuff done. However using a car just gives you so much more freedom. You can go to places that are further away, that you cannot reach easily with trains, and you can come and go whenever you want.
In the future, I want to travel a lot. It is my dream to live in different countries. In that case, taking a car with me is going to be really difficult. I figured that I would just not have a car but I guess that having a car is pretty important for me. I will have to figure that out.
Driving to Paris takes a long time but actually I didn’t really notice any of that. I slept pretty much through the whole drive. I could have had a good time in the bus with our friends. Instead, I slept but that meant that I had more energy than anybody while we were in Paris.
I went to Amsterdam for House Dance Forever just one week ago. Amsterdam is not that far away from where I live but it still ended up being a very complicated trip. The initial plan was to take the car with some of my friends and sleep at a friend’s place in Amsterdam. Both of those things didn’t work out at all. My friends found a different car but there was no space left for me. Until just a few days before the event, I actually thought that I just wouldn’t go.
Then a different friend contacted me. I didn’t see that guy in a long time and he wanted to know how I was going to go to Amsterdam. Spontaneously, we booked the bus and the hostel just two days before the event.
I thought that I would spend the whole weekend with that friend or at least the friends I wanted to go by car with but we lost sight of each other during the event. Instead, I met some of the people again who don’t live close to me and I ended up spending most of the weekend with them.
I am going on a dance trip to Amsterdam in three days. Even though the trip is in three days, I did not have anything organized until today. I normally like to have everything planned well in advance so this time I was a lot more worried. I was even afraid that the trip wouldn’t happen. I was so worried about it but in the end it was not a big deal at all. Everything is booked now and looks pretty good.
We are planning a bus tour to Paris right now. We will go to Juste Debout this year. I am already getting so excited. Juste Debout will be a really amazing event but I am even more excited to go on a trip with all of the dancers I know here in Germany. Everybody I care about will go and the trip will be amazing.
I have a lot of foreign friends so I often get asked what you should visit in Germany or my area. I always have troubles with this question. I am very particular about traveling. I like to walk around and think or I like to meet new people and have experiences. I don’t care as much about sightseeing or relaxing. I often feel like the sightseeing spots in Germany are not really that interesting and there are no great ways to relax. I like the places I like because I associate a certain memory or emotion with them. I always get worried that my friends won’t have that same experience.
I will be in Berlin tomorrow. It is not going to be a long trip but it will still be kind of an adventure. I will have some time to explore the city without any plan. I like that. Recently, I just went on trips to go to dance events so I didn’t have the chance to take anything in. I want to have a proper vacation again.
I want to go to Berlin for a dance event in the next couple of weeks. However, the trip is going to be expensive, uncomfortable, and take a long time. I was considering not going there after all, but I don’t think that is really the best option. Maybe the the travel will not be ideal but it will still be an amazing trip and a lot of fun. I feel like I will regret it more if I don’t go.
Yesterday our car was broken into and one of our windows is broken. We noticed this in the middle of the night somewhere in the Netherlands. This was definitely not the best place and time to have a broken window. We walked all the way to the police station to file a report and in the end everything was fine. There were two crucial mistakes we made in the panic and I don’t plan on making them again. We did not drive the car because we wanted to preserve the crime scene for the police to take a look. That was not necessary. We could have and probably should have taken the car. It would have made the whole ordeal a lot less annoying. We also forgot to check for the important information before going to the police station. Doing so beforehand would have made everything much easier.
